The Sunset Park CSA is a volunteer-run community organization

Participation of all our members is necessary in order to ensure the smooth operations of the weekly CSA distribution, as well as the CSA's continued success. Our members are asked to commit to scheduling and completing at least three, 90-minute work shifts during the season (between June 5 - November 13). If this is not possible, reach out to make alternate arrangements in advance. We are always happy to work with our members on this.

Distributions are always on Wednesdays at St. Michael's R.C. Church Chapel just before the rectory at 352 42nd st, from 5:30 - 7:30pm. Work shifts are split into First and Second shifts, further described below.

First Shift (5:00pm - 6:30pm) includes setting up tables, scales, and moving vegetable/fruit crates to their respective stations. Some lifting may be required. Duties also include general distribution responsibilities, such as greeting members, signing them in, weighing out shares, and wishing people a good rest of their night.

Second Shift (6:00pm - 7:30pm) includes the same distribution responsibilities described above, as well as breaking down boxes/crates, cleaning/stacking tables, sweeping, and storing any leftover shares.

Both shifts are also excellent ways to get to know your fellow community members.

When you sign up for a CSA share, you will receive an email from Clare Conniff (our Work Shift Coordinator) to sign up for your work shift. You can also sign up by contacting us at sunsetparkcsa@gmail.com.
